Richard Faber

Born in 1943, Richard Faber is a philosopher and sociologist. He received his doctorate with a study on the critique of political theology and completed his habilitation in sociology with a thesis on the myth of the Occident. Faber worked as a Privatdozent and professor of sociology of literature and religion at Freie Universität Berlin. He has published several books and edited numerous collections, including *Political Religion – Religious Politics* (1997), *Occidental Eschatology: Ad Jacob Taubes* (2001), *Political Demonology: On Modern Marcionism* (2007), and *The Occident: A Political Catchword* (2020).
