Rainer E Zimmermann

Rainer E. Zimmermann studied physics and mathematics in Berlin and London. He earned doctorates in mathematics from Freie Universität Berlin and in philosophy from Technische Universität Berlin, and completed his habilitation in natural philosophy at the University of Kassel. Zimmermann was Professor of Philosophy at Hochschule München and a Privatdozent at the University of Kassel. He held visiting research and teaching positions at institutions including the University of Cambridge, the University of Bologna, the University of Salzburg, and the Technical Universities of Berlin and Vienna. He published around 350 works, including approximately 30 books. His works include “Nothingness as Ground and Nothing but Ground” (2014) and “Metaphysics of Emergence. Part 1: On the Foundations of Systems” (2015).
