Ernst Baltrusch

Ernst Baltrusch (born 1956) is a German ancient historian. Until his retirement in 2021, he was Professor of Ancient History at Freie Universität Berlin. His research focused on the history of Sparta, the late Roman Republic and the early Roman Empire, ancient Judaism, and Greek and ancient international law. In 2007, he edited the volume *Caesar* in the series *Neue Wege der Forschung*.
