Andreas Chwatal was born in Regensburg in 1982. From 2006 to 2012, he studied painting and graphic art at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich. He subsequently worked as a freelance artist in Munich. His work, which repeatedly draws on elements of classical book illustration as narrative devices, was exhibited at venues including Galerie Andreas Grimm, Kunstraum München, and Kunstarkaden München. In 2014, he received the Paris Scholarship from the Bavarian state.
