Henrieke Markert studied Romance Languages and Comparative Literature as well as Art History in Dresden and Trento. She subsequently completed a master’s degree in conference interpreting in Heidelberg and Monterey, California. From 2015 onward, she worked as a literary translator, reader, surtitler and interpreter in German, Italian and English. Her translations included novels, graphic novels and plays from Italian and English into German. She received several scholarships from the German Translators’ Fund and took part in its workshops.
