Ubah Cristina Ali Farah (born 1973 in Verona) is a Somali-Italian writer, poet, playwright and librettist. She grew up in Mogadishu and left Somalia with her family in 1991 because of the civil war. Farah holds a PhD in African Studies from the University of Naples L’Orientale and has taught Somali language and literature at Roma Tre University. Her novels include *Madre piccola* (2007), *Il comandante del fiume* (2014) and *Le stazioni della luna* (2021). Her literary work has received, among other distinctions, the Lingua Madre Literary Prize and the Premio Vittorini.
