Ansgar Kreutzer, born in 1973, is a German Catholic theologian. He studied Catholic theology, sociology, and the philosophy of religion and Christianity in Freiburg, Paris, and Frankfurt am Main. After completing his doctorate on the Second Vatican Council’s pastoral constitution “Gaudium et Spes,” he received the Karl Rahner Prize in 2006. He completed his habilitation in dogmatics in 2010. His academic career included positions at the Catholic Private University of Linz and Justus Liebig University Giessen, where he taught systematic theology. His research areas include the theology of the Second Vatican Council, kenosis, work, popular culture, social ethics, and political theology.
