Volha Hapeyeva (born 1982 in Minsk, Belarus) is a Belarusian poet, author, translator, and linguist with a doctorate. She has published 14 books in Belarusian, and her poetry has been translated into more than ten languages. Her works published in German include the poetry collection “Mutantengarten” (2020), the novel “Camel Travel” (2021), the essay “Die Verteidigung der Poesie in Zeiten dauernden Exils” (2022), and the poetry collection “Trapezherz” (2023). Hapeyeva has received, among other distinctions, the Rotahorn Literature Prize (2021) and the Wortmeldungen Literature Prize (2022). In 2019/2020, she was Graz’s city writer.
