Margarete Beutler (1876–1949) was a German poet, translator from French, and editor. She attended a teachers’ seminary in Berlin and later worked for the magazine Jugend. In 1907 she married the writer Kurt Friedrich Freksa, with whom she was associated with Munich’s bohemian scene. In 1933, she refused to join the Reich Chamber of Literature and subsequently ceased publishing. Beutler died in Gammertingen on June 3, 1949.
