Marica Bodrožić was born in Dalmatia, in present-day Croatia, in 1973 and moved to Hesse in 1983. Her literary work includes poetry, novels, short stories and essays; her books have been translated into more than sixteen languages. Her debut, “Tito ist tot,” was published in 2002. Her distinctions include the European Prize for Literature (2013), the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Literature Prize (2015), the Walter Hasenclever Literature Prize, the Manès Sperber Literature Prize and the Irmtraud Morgner Literature Prize (2023).
