Tilman Allert

Tilman Allert (born 1947) studied sociology at the universities of Freiburg, Tübingen and Frankfurt am Main. After receiving his doctorate in 1981 and completing his habilitation in 1994, he became a professor of sociology and social psychology at Goethe University Frankfurt in 2000, specializing in the sociology of education. He has taught as a guest lecturer in Berlin, Tbilisi and Yerevan, among other places. His notable publications include »Der deutsche Gruß. Geschichte einer unheilvollen Geste« (2005) and »Latte Macchiato. Soziologie der kleinen Dinge« (2015).
