Romana Ganzoni was born in Scuol in the Lower Engadine in 1967. She studied history and German at the University of Zurich and spent time in London. She then worked for 20 years as a secondary-school teacher before turning to writing. Her publications include short stories, novels, essays and poetry, as well as books for children and young adults. In 2020, she received the Bündner Literature Prize for the short-story collection *Granada Grischun* and the novel *Tod in Genua*.
