Zora Buono

Zora del Buono, born in Zurich in 1962, studied architecture at ETH Zurich and the HdK Berlin. She then worked for several years as an architect and construction manager, including in Berlin after German reunification, before becoming a writer. She was a founding member and culture editor of the magazine mare. Her publications include the novels Canitz’ Verlangen (2008), Big Sue (2010) and Die Marschallin (2022), the travel narrative Hundert Tage Amerika (2011), the novella Gotthard (2015), and the book about ancient trees Das Leben der Mächtigen (2015). In 2024, she received the Swiss Book Prize for Seinetwegen.
