Joana Osman, born in 1982, is the daughter of a Palestinian father and a German mother. She studied American studies, theatre studies and art history, and in 2012 co-founded the peace movement The Peace Factory. She published the novels Am Boden des Himmels (2019) and Wo die Geister tanzen (2023), as well as the essay Frieden. Eine reale Utopie (2025). In 2024, she received the Bavarian Arts Promotion Award.
