Ingrid Schmitz

Ingrid Schmitz was born in Düsseldorf in 1955. She trained as a freight forwarding clerk and worked, among other positions, for a Canadian shipping company and in Soviet foreign trade. From 2000 onward, she worked as a full-time author. Her writing career began with crime short stories and the editing of crime anthologies; around 60 of her short crime stories and 16 anthologies were published. She became known for her crime novels and the series featuring private investigator Mia Magaloff, whose cases are set in the Lower Rhine region and on the East Frisian islands. From 2021, she also contributed to the Jerry Cotton crime paperback series and wrote island crime novels.
