Frank Kreisler, born in Rostock in 1962, studied at the Institute of Literature in Leipzig. As a freelance author, he published short crime stories in numerous anthologies as well as his own collections, including *Die schwarzen Schmetterlinge und 11 weitere finstere Storys* (2021) and *Wand an Wand mit einer Leiche* (2022). He was nominated for the Leipzig Crime Fiction Prize and received a Denkzeit work grant from the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony.
