Heike Meckelmann

Heike Meckelmann was born near Elmshorn and studied business administration. For many years, she worked as a self-employed master hairdresser and photographer, and she also ran a wedding agency. As a singer, she released the maritime album “Piratenland” under the stage name Nila Martin, writing most of its lyrics herself. She began working as a freelance author in the 2010s. Her publications include crime novels, short stories, and travel literature. Her debut novel, “Küstenschrei,” features Oldenburg detectives Dirk Westermann and Thomas Hartwig; her subsequent crime novels are set largely on the island of Fehmarn.
