Jan Flieger

Jan Flieger, born in Berlin in 1941, is a graduate industrial engineer and author of crime novels, thrillers, darkly humorous stories, and children’s books. He received the Theodor Körner Prize. His work has been translated into several languages, including Chinese, and his stories have appeared in school readers in France, Norway, and Sweden. Two of his crime novels were published by S. Fischer Verlag before 1989. His book “Der Sog” was adapted for film in 1988 under the title “Alles umsonst” and was broadcast several times on television. “Tatort Teufelsauge” was translated into English and used in 2006 in a course on German crime literature at the University of Toronto.
