Harald Hauswald (born 1954 in Radebeul) is a German photographer. After completing photographic training, he moved to East Berlin in 1977 and became a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR. He was one of the founding members of the OSTKREUZ photo agency. As the first East German photographer, he published photojournalism under a pseudonym in West German magazines including GEO, ZEIT-Magazin and taz. His photographs have been shown in numerous exhibitions and publications about East Berlin. His books include Like A Rolling Stone: Dylan, Cocker, Springsteen – Weltstars in der DDR (2018, with Christoph Dieckmann) and Ost-Berlin (with Lutz Rathenow). Hauswald received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1997 and the Einheitspreis – Bürgerpreis zur Deutschen Einheit in 2006.
