Jens Balzer

Born in 1969, Jens Balzer has worked as an author and journalist for publications and broadcasters including Die Zeit, Rolling Stone, Deutschlandfunk and radioeins. He was deputy editor of the culture section of the Berliner Zeitung and curated the Popsalon at the Deutsches Theater. His books include Pop (2016), Das entfesselte Jahrzehnt. Sound und Geist der 70er (2019), High Energy. Die Achtziger – das pulsierende Jahrzehnt (2021), No Limit. Die Neunziger – das Jahrzehnt der Freiheit (2023) and After Woke (2024). After Woke reached number one on the nonfiction bestseller lists of Die Zeit, ZDF and Deutschlandfunk Kultur, as well as on the Spiegel bestseller list.
