Maurice Weiss

Maurice Weiss (born 1964) is a photographer. He studied at the College of Photography in Dortmund under Ullrich Mack and Arno Fischer. Weiss founded the photographers’ agency OSTKREUZ and served as its managing director. His portraits and reportage appeared, among others, in Geo, Der Spiegel, Stern, Die Zeit, L’Express, Libération, and The New York Times. His work was shown in exhibitions including “Östlich von Eden. Von der DDR nach Deutschland” (Berlin, 1999), “Augenblicke, Augenzeugen – Bilder aus Berlin” (Goethe-Institut Moscow, 2002), and “Berlin-Moscow/Moscow-Berlin 1950–2000” (2003/04). His book publications include Berlin zwischen den Zeiten (1996) and Östlich von Eden. Von der DDR nach Deutschland (1999).
