Jan Josef Liefers

Jan Josef Liefers (born 1964 in Dresden) is a German actor, director, musician, voice actor and author. He became known nationwide through the film “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” (1997) and his role in “Rossini,” for which he received the Bavarian Film Award for Best Young Actor. In “Jack’s Baby” (2000), he played the lead role, made his directorial debut and composed the music; he received the Bavarian Television Award for the film. From 2002 onward, he portrayed forensic pathologist Prof. Karl-Friedrich Boerne in the Münster episodes of “Tatort.” His acting work, including his role in “Tatort,” earned him several awards, among them the Adolf Grimme Award, the Bambi and the Golden Camera. He published the autobiographical book “Soundtrack meiner Kindheit” and also worked as an audiobook narrator.
