Lutz Rathenow

Lutz Rathenow, born in 1952 in Jena, is a German poet and prose writer. He wrote for both children and adults and also worked as a journalist, essayist, and radio columnist. Rathenow was active in the independent peace and civil rights movement and advocated the examination of the former East German SED dictatorship as a writer and journalist. From 2011 to 2021, he served as Saxony’s Commissioner for the Stasi Records.
