Gernot Wolfgruber

Gernot Wolfgruber was born in 1944 in Gmünd, Lower Austria. After abandoning apprenticeships as a textile printer and typesetter, he worked as a laborer and programmer. He completed his secondary-school qualification through an alternative educational route and graduated in journalism and political science in 1979. Between 1975 and 1985, he published five novels, among other works, establishing a prominent position for himself in contemporary Austrian literature.
