Martin Kiel studied biology, German studies, philosophy, archaeology and art history. He has worked as a lecturer and visiting professor at institutions including Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Zollverein School of Management & Design in Essen, Pepperdine University in Malibu, Ruhr University Bochum, the University of Münster and the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. From 2015 to 2018, he was a visiting professor of communication theory and verbal communication at Berlin University of the Arts. His research areas include cultural strategy development, narration, digital transformation, investigative aesthetics and maker thinking.
