Markus Richter worked at Neuschwanstein Castle for almost twenty years and lived there for a period of time. As castellan, he was responsible for the castle’s day-to-day operations. He wrote the guides “Schloss Neuschwanstein” and “Heldensagen von Neuschwanstein,” as well as the ghost story “Ludwig und Poldi.” He also authored the historical Neuschwanstein thrillers “Ins Herz” and “Ohne Herz.” His professional connection with Neuschwanstein Castle and Ludwig II shaped his literary work.
