Marieluise Beck

Marieluise Beck (born 1952) is a German politician and expert on Eastern Europe. In 1983, she became spokesperson for the first Green parliamentary group in the German Bundestag, where she served as a member until 2017, most recently on the Foreign Affairs Committee. In the red-green federal government, she was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. In 2017, she co-founded the Center for Liberal Modernity (LibMod), an independent think tank focused on defending liberal democracy and accompanying political developments in Eastern Europe.
