Christoph Brumme, born in 1962 in Wernigerode, is a German writer and essayist. After completing training as a railway worker, he worked at the Eisleben Theatre as an assistant director and stage manager, and studied philosophy. He has written essays, reportage, and books on politics, society, and cycling. His publications include “111 Gründe, das Radfahren zu lieben” (“111 Reasons to Love Cycling”). Brumme has undertaken several extensive bicycle journeys, including long trips toward the Volga and through Ukraine.
