Mara-Daria Cojocaru was born in Hamburg in 1980. She studied political science, philosophy, law and theatre studies and worked as a research assistant at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. As a writer, she has published, among other works, the poetry collection Anstelle einer Unterwerfung (2016). In 2017, she received the Bavarian Arts Promotion Prize for Literature.
