Manfred Allie

Manfred Allié, born in Marburg in 1955, was a German literary translator. He translated English and American literature into German, including works by Jane Austen, Joseph Conrad, Ralph Ellison, Richard Powers, Yann Martel, Patricia Highsmith and Patrick Leigh Fermor. In 2006, he received the Helmut M. Braem Translation Prize for his translation of Fermor’s *A Time of Gifts*.
