Lothar Poethe

Lothar Poethe (born 1947) is a trained teacher and specialist librarian. In 1978, he joined the Deutsche Bücherei Leipzig. From 1985 to 2005, he directed the library’s German Book and Writing Museum. Poethe was one of the co-founders of the Leipzig Working Group for the History of the Book and of the Leipzig Yearbook of Book History, for which he also served as co-editor. He published numerous contributions on the history of the book.
