Larissa Kikol

Larissa Kikol (born 1986) is a freelance art critic, art scholar and author. She studied stage design and dramaturgy in Berlin-Weißensee and received a doctorate in art studies from the State University of Design Karlsruhe. Her writing has appeared in publications including Die Zeit, art, Kunstforum International, Monopol Online and mare, as well as in artists’ catalogues and museum publications. In 2016, she won the C/O Berlin international competition for art criticism. Her research has addressed concepts of childhood in modern and contemporary art and childhood as a sociological phenomenon in adult society. Her book “Nutzt die Kunst aus! Eine Einladung. Über Engagement und Kulturwerkzeuge” was published by Kettler in 2023. In 2020, her project “Local Heroes” was included in the official parallel programme of Manifesta 13 Marseille.
