Born in Düren in 1964, Michael Lentz is a writer, musician, editor, and literary scholar. He was a professor at the German Literature Institute of Leipzig University. His works include the novel »Schattenfroh. Ein Requiem« (2018), the commentary »Innehaben. Schattenfroh und die Bilder« (2020), the poetry collection »Chora« (2023), and the novels »Heimwärts« and »Grönemeyer« (both 2024). Lentz has received, among other honors, the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize (2001), the Prize of the Literature Houses (2005), the Walter Hasenclever Literature Prize (2012), and the Bettina Brentano Prize for Contemporary Poetry (2024), awarded for »Chora« and his body of work.
