Alexander Kluge, born in 1932 in Halberstadt, is a jurist, writer, filmmaker, television producer, and exhibition maker. In 1987, he founded the production company dctp, which developed independent programming for German commercial television. His cross-genre work includes books, short stories, films, television programs, and radio plays. With Oskar Negt, he published, among other works, “Öffentlichkeit und Erfahrung” and “Geschichte und Eigensinn.” His honors include the Georg Büchner Prize, the Theodor W. Adorno Prize, the Heinrich Heine Prize of the City of Düsseldorf, and the Klopstock Prize of the City of Halberstadt.
