Julian Greis was born in Hattingen in 1983 and trained as an actor in Stuttgart. During his training, he appeared as a guest at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus and the Württembergische Landesbühne Esslingen. After an engagement at Schauspielhaus Graz, he joined Hamburg’s Thalia Theater in 2009. Alongside his stage work, he worked as a film and television actor and as a voice performer for radio plays and audiobooks. In 2012, he received the Boy Gobert Award for emerging actors, and in 2017 he won the German Children’s Audiobook Prize BEO.
