Jacob Grimm (1785–1863) and Wilhelm Grimm (1786–1859), German linguists and folklorists born in Hanau, studied law at the University of Marburg. They became best known for their jointly edited collection „Children’s and Household Tales“, whose first volumes appeared in 1812, 1815, and 1822.
