Joachim Wagner is a qualified lawyer and journalist. After four years as an assistant professor of criminal law, criminal procedure and criminology at Freie Universität Berlin, he took over the legal policy desk at NDR radio in 1979. From 1987 to 2008, he hosted and headed the magazine “Panorama”, served as head of the ARD bureau in London and later as deputy editor-in-chief at the ARD capital bureau. He subsequently worked as a freelance journalist and author.
