Hubertus Buchstein (born 1959) is a political scientist. He earned his doctorate at Freie Universität Berlin and taught at the New School for Social Research in New York. In 1998, he became Professor of Political Theory and the History of Political Ideas at the University of Greifswald. His publications include “Demokratie und Lotterie. Das Los als politisches Entscheidungsinstrument von der Antike bis zur EU” (2009) and “Enduring Enmity. The Story of Otto Kirchheimer and Carl Schmitt” (2023).
