Heinz Bude

Heinz Bude, born in 1954, studied sociology, philosophy and psychology. From 2000 to 2023, he was Professor of Macrosociology at the University of Kassel. Before that, he headed the department “Politics and Society of the Old and New Federal Republic” at the Hamburg Institute for Social Research. In 2016, he received the German Sociological Association’s award for outstanding contributions to the public impact of sociology. His books include Adorno für Ruinenkinder. Eine Geschichte von 1968 (2018), Solidarität. Die Zukunft einer großen Idee (2019), and Aufprall (2020, co-written with Bettina Munk and Karin Wieland).
