Gilda Sahebi was born in Iran and grew up in Germany. She trained as a physician and studied political science. As a journalist, she has covered racism, antisemitism, women’s rights, the Middle East, science, domestic and foreign policy, and authoritarian systems. She has written for the newspapers Die Tageszeitung (taz) and Der Spiegel and worked, among others, for ARD. In 2022, Focus named her one of its “100 Women of the Year,” and Medium Magazin named her Political Journalist of the Year. Her books include “›Unser Schwert ist Liebe‹. Die feministische Revolte im Iran,” “Wie wir uns Rassismus beibringen. Eine Analyse deutscher Debatten,” and “Verbinden statt spalten.”
