Florian Wacker was born in Stuttgart in 1980. He studied special education and at the German Literature Institute Leipzig. He has published novels, short stories, plays and crime fiction, including *Albuquerque* (2014), *Dahlenberger* (2015), *Stromland* (2018), *Weiße Finsternis* (2021), *Die Spur der Aale* (2023), *Zebras im Schnee* (2024) and *Der goldene Tod*. He received the Robert Gernhardt Prize for *Weiße Finsternis*.
