Christian Krumm, born in Krefeld in 1977, is a historian with a doctorate and an author. He worked at the University of Duisburg-Essen and spent several years working in a secure psychiatric hospital; these experiences informed his literary writing. Krumm writes novels, short stories and nonfiction, including “Traumschrott,” “Heaven 11” and “At Dawn They Sleep.” Together with Holger Schmenk, he published “Kumpels in Kutten. Heavy Metal im Ruhrgebiet” (2010). Other books focus on the record label Century Media (“Do It Yourself. Die Geschichte eines Labels,” 2012) and the band Morgoth (“Morgoth Uncursed,” 2015). As a teenager, Krumm also stood in the supporters’ section of KFC Uerdingen and helped write a song for the club’s fans.
