Anke Faust

Anke Faust (born 1971) studied communication design, specializing in illustration, at the University of Applied Sciences in Mainz. In 1996, she began working freelance as an illustrator and author for children’s and schoolbook publishers. She became known in particular for her illustrations for „Ein Schaf fürs Leben“, written by Maritgen Matter. The book received the 2004 German Children’s and Young Adult Literature Prize as well as the North Rhine-Westphalia Children’s Book Award. Two books illustrated by Faust were also recognized by the Stiftung Buchkunst among the “Most Beautiful Books.” Her other notable work includes her interpretation of Paul Maar’s „Der tätowierte Hund“.
