Reinhard Michl, born in 1948 in Hausen, Lower Bavaria, is a German book and children’s book illustrator. After an apprenticeship as a typesetter, he studied graphic design and later at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. One of the best-known books he illustrated is Irina Korschunow’s The Foundling Fox, which became a children’s literature classic with his illustrations. Michl’s work was exhibited in Germany and abroad and received several awards, including recognition connected with the German Children’s Literature Prize.
