Wilhelm Kamlah

Wilhelm Kamlah (1905–1976) was a German philosopher. He studied, among others, under Rudolf Bultmann and Martin Heidegger. After serving in the Second World War and suffering a severe injury, he completed his habilitation and was appointed to a professorship at the University of Erlangen in 1954. Together with Paul Lorenzen, he founded the Erlangen School of methodological constructivism. In his 1976 work “Meditatio mortis,” he addressed suicide and took his own life that same year.
