Wiete Lenk is from Dresden. After finishing school, she initially worked as a stewardess for the German Maritime Shipping Company, then studied business administration and worked in commercial roles, including as a balance-sheet accountant. She earned a Master of Arts in Biographical and Creative Writing at Berlin’s Alice Salomon University. She subsequently worked freelance as a lecturer, editor and author. Her predominantly short-form prose appeared in magazines and anthologies. In 2013, she published the story collection “Drei Wochen drüber,” followed by further short-story collections. Lenk received several literary awards, including the Kammweg Prize in 2016, and took part in residential and work fellowships supported by the Saxon Cultural Foundation.
