Verena Richter studied law at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. After working as a tax and audit assistant at a law firm in Mainz, she became a legal counsel at the Association of Employers of Insurance Companies in Germany in Munich in 2008 and was also admitted to practise as a lawyer with her own firm. Her areas of expertise in employment law included vacation law, temporary agency work, remuneration and employment-contract design, and dismissal law. Richter served as an honorary judge at the Munich Labour and Social Courts and participated in professional committees representing the interests of employers and the insurance industry. She also conducted seminars and in-house training for the German Insurance Academy.
