Volker Kosznitzki

Volker Kosznitzki, born in 1955, was born and raised in Gelsenkirchen, where he grew up in a miners’ settlement. After completing secondary school, he trained as an industrial clerk and worked, among other things, as a street musician, in property management and in shoe sales. From 1980 onward, he worked in public administration. In 2008, he began writing satirical short stories, initially inspired by his own records of telephone conversations with telemarketers. He has since published several books of Ruhr-region humor featuring the character Günner Mambrallek, as well as contributions to anthologies.
