Anna Kochanek

Anna Kochanek was born in Wuppertal in 1972. After attending a school for blind students in Düren, she transferred to a mainstream secondary school and completed her Abitur in 1994. She then studied German and English in Stuttgart and Bochum, earning a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts. From 2001 onward, she worked as a medical device consultant for a company producing and distributing aids for blind and visually impaired people. Kochanek began writing stories and poems as a child and achieved success in writing competitions. She was a member of BLAutor, a literary association of blind and visually impaired authors.
