Ulrich Riegel

Ulrich Riegel (born 1966) is a German Catholic theologian and religious education scholar. He studied Catholic theology as well as mathematics and Catholic theology for teaching at secondary schools in Würzburg and Rome. He received his doctorate in religious education from the University of Würzburg in 2003. After working as a research associate and academic councillor in Würzburg, he was appointed Professor of Practical Theology and Religious Education at the University of Siegen in December 2008. His research has addressed the empirical study of religious teaching and learning as well as contemporary religiosity.
